Ingredients
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 cup onion (chopped)
- 2 garlic cloves (minced)
- 1 lb ground beef
- ½ lb ground pork
- 28 oz can diced tomatoes
- 16 oz full-fat ricotta cheese
- 9 uncooked lasagna noodles
- 4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Prepare the meat sauce by sautéing onions and garlic in olive oil. Add ground meats and cook until browned. Stir in tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, basil, oregano, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper; simmer for 30 minutes.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese with one egg, basil, salt, and pepper.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Layer meat sauce in a baking dish followed by noodles, cheese mixture, and mozzarella. Repeat layers twice more. Finish with meat sauce and remaining cheeses.
