Ingredients

  • 6 cups ketchup
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • ½ cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 2 teaspoons liquid smoke (adjust to taste for additional smoky flavor)
  • 2 teaspoons salt (adjust to taste)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, combine all ingredients and stir well.
  2. Simmer over medium heat for 30-35 minutes until thickened.
  3. While simmering, sterilize canning jars by boiling them in water.
  4. Ladle hot sauce into jars, leaving ½ inch headspace.
  5. Wipe rims, seal with lids and bands.
  6. Process jars in a water bath canner for 20 minutes.
  7. Remove jars and let cool before storing.
