  • 1 pound Spicy Italian sausage (cooked and drained)
  • 12 ounces Cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 3/4 cups Freshly grated Mozzarella Cheese (divided)
  • 1/2 cup Freshly shredded or grated Parmesan cheese
  • 15 ounces Can diced tomatoes (drained)
  • 3/4 cup Pepperoncinis (drained and diced)
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red pepper flakes
  • Fresh chopped basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the spicy sausage until fully browned. Drain excess grease.
  2. Preheat oven to 350°F and spray a baking dish with nonstick spray.
  3. In a bowl, mix the cooked sausage, cream cheese, 3/4 cup mozzarella, Parmesan, tomatoes, pepperoncinis, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes until combined.
  4. Spread the mixture in the prepared baking dish and top with remaining mozzarella.
  5. Bake for about 20 minutes or until bubbly. For extra browning, broil for a few minutes at the end.
  6. Garnish with fresh basil and serve warm with crostini or crackers.
