Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup milk (any variety)
  • 1/4 cup melted butter or coconut oil (cooled)
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour (plus more for mixing)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 packet instant yeast (or 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast)
  • 1/4 cup softened butter or melted coconut oil (for filling)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (or more as desired)
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 23 tablespoons milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk to about 120°F to 130°F. Coat a baking pan with cooking spray and set aside.
  2. In a mixing bowl, blend warm milk with melted butter/coconut oil, sugar, sea salt, and instant yeast. Gradually mix in flour until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about five minutes until smooth. Let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes.
  4. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread softened butter over it, and then sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  5. Tightly roll up the dough into a log shape and cut into twelve equal pieces. Place in the prepared pan and let rise for another 20 minutes.
  6. Preheat the oven to 375°F while waiting. Bake for about 25 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Mix powdered sugar with milk to create the glaze and drizzle it over warm rolls before serving.
