  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 3 cups cake flour
  • 1 1/4 cups buttermilk

  • Strawberry reduction (for strawberry layer)
  • Heavy cream (for frosting)

Instructions

  3. Mix dry ingredients (cake flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt) in one bowl; in another, combine buttermilk, vegetable oil, and vanilla.
  4. Cream softened butter with sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one by one.
  5. Alternate adding dry and wet mixtures until just combined.
  6. Divide batter into three bowls: one for vanilla, one mixed with cocoa for chocolate, and one with strawberry reduction.
  7. Bake each layer for about 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool completely before frosting with whipped cream.
