- 1–1/2 to 2 pounds chicken tenders
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup honey
- 1 Tbsp baking powder
- 3/4 cups buttermilk
- 2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 large egg
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large pot to medium-high for frying.
- Dredge chicken in seasoned flour (flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika), then dip in egg mixture and coat again with flour.
- Fry chicken pieces in hot oil until golden brown (about 8-10 minutes). Drain on paper towels.
- Preheat oven to 450°F and prepare biscuit dough by combining remaining flour, baking powder, salt, baking soda, and cold butter until crumbly; add buttermilk to form soft dough.
- Shape biscuits and bake for 15-17 minutes until golden brown.
- Prepare hot honey by simmering honey with red pepper flakes and apple cider vinegar.
