  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 68 Tbsp milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare two 9-inch round cake pans by lining them with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add the milk, oil, eggs, and vanilla to the dry ingredients; mix until smooth.
  4. Gradually stir in the boiling water until well combined.
  5. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Allow to cool before removing from pans.
  6. For frosting, beat softened butter with cocoa powder and powdered sugar; add vanilla and milk until desired consistency is reached.
  7. Frost between layers and on top of the cooled cakes.
