Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup oil
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1/2 cup butter softened
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 pinch salt
- 6–8 Tbsp milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare two 9-inch round cake pans by lining them with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add the milk, oil, eggs, and vanilla to the dry ingredients; mix until smooth.
- Gradually stir in the boiling water until well combined.
- Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Allow to cool before removing from pans.
- For frosting, beat softened butter with cocoa powder and powdered sugar; add vanilla and milk until desired consistency is reached.
