  • 1 cup peas
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 cups fat-free milk
  • 1/4 cup half-and-half cream
  • 1 1/2 cups fully cooked cubed ham
  • 4 oz fat-free cream cheese
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 cup grated Romano cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook the tortellini according to package instructions in a large saucepan until tender. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a nonstick skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and stir in the flour until smooth. Gradually add milk and half-and-half, bringing to a boil. Cook for about one minute or until thickened.
  3. Stir in cubed ham, peas, basil, garlic powder, and pepper. Mix until the cream cheese is melted completely.
