Description

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 8 oz linguine or fettuccine noodles
  • 4 tsp fresh grated ginger
  • 6 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium beef broth
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • Green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes. Add garlic and ginger in the last 2 minutes.
  2. Cook the noodles according to package instructions until al dente, then drain.
  3. Drain excess fat from the beef, then mix in brown sugar, beef broth, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  4. Create a slurry with cornstarch and water; add it to the skillet and simmer until thickened (about 2-3 minutes).
  5. Toss in the cooked noodles until well-coated in sauce.
  6. Serve hot garnished with green onions.
