Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef (or ½ lb ground Italian sausage + ½ lb ground beef)
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 15 oz tomato sauce
- 6 oz tomato paste
- ½ tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tbsp dried parsley flakes
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Crushed red pepper flakes, to taste
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef along with the chopped onion until fully cooked. Drain excess grease.
- Stir in tomato sauce, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, parsley flakes, garlic powder, crushed red pepper flakes (to taste), Worcestershire sauce, and sugar.
- Add water and bring the mixture to a boil. Then reduce heat and let it simmer for about 20 minutes to meld flavors.
- If desired, stir in fresh basil leaves just before serving.
- Serve over cooked spaghetti noodles.
