Ingredients
- 1 pre-made pie crust (or homemade)
- 1 pound large Florida shrimp, peeled and chopped
- 2 tablespoons butter
- ½ cup onion, finely chopped
- ½ cup celery, finely chopped
- ½ cup red bell pepper, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ cup heavy cream
- ½ cup whole milk
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- ½ cup shredded white cheddar cheese
- ¼ cup Parmesan cheese
- Panko breadcrumbs for topping
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out the pie crust in a pie pan and pre-bake for 10 minutes until lightly golden.
- In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat and sauté onion, celery, and bell pepper for 3–4 minutes until softened. Stir in garlic and spices; cook for another minute.
- Add shrimp to skillet and cook just until pink (2–3 minutes). Remove from heat.
- In the same skillet, whisk in flour; gradually add cream and milk until thickened. Stir in mustard and cheeses until smooth.
- Combine shrimp mixture with creamy filling; pour into pre-baked crust.
- Top with panko breadcrumbs mixed with melted butter and Parmesan cheese.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown and bubbling.
