  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×5 metal loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, mash the bananas until smooth.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar with a hand mixer until fluffy (about 2–3 minutes).
  4. Mix in the eggs, mashed bananas, and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  5. Sift together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt into the wet mixture. Fold gently until just combined; then fold in 3/4 cup of chocolate chips.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and sprinkle remaining chocolate chips on top. Bake for 50–60 minutes or until a knife inserted comes out clean. Allow cooling for at least 20 minutes before slicing.
