  • 1 ¼ cups (306 g) whole milk
  • 1 large egg (room temperature)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup (½ stick / 57 g) unsalted butter (melted)
  • ½ cup (100 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and prepare an 8 ½ x 4 ½-inch loaf pan with nonstick spray.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla until combined.
  4. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
  5. Transfer batter to the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 60–70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few crumbs.
  7. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to parchment paper.
  8. Brush warm bread with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar topping.
