Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8 inch baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, granulated sugar, and cocoa powder. Stir in milk, melted butter, and vanilla until well combined. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared dish.
  3. In another bowl, mix brown sugar and remaining cocoa powder. Sprinkle this mixture over the batter without stirring.
  4. Carefully pour hot water over the top without mixing.
  5. Bake for 40-45 minutes until the center is just set but still gooey.
