  • 1/2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 large yellow onion (finely diced)
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 8 slices medium cheddar cheese
  • 24 dinner rolls
  • 2 Tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 Tbsp sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and butter a rimmed baking sheet.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, sauté diced onion in olive oil until translucent, then add ground beef. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder; cook until browned.
  3. Drain excess fat, then mix in mayonnaise.
  4. Cut dinner rolls in half and place bottom halves on the baking sheet. Layer with cheese slices, spread beef mixture evenly on top, and sprinkle with shredded cheese.
  5. Cover with top halves of buns, brush with melted butter, sprinkle sesame seeds, and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
