  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Shaoxing wine or dry sherry
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 2 teaspoons coarsely ground black pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 white onion, chopped
  • 2 bell peppers, chopped
  • Cornstarch
  • Sugar
  • Peanut oil

Instructions

  1. Marinate the sliced chicken with soy sauce, Shaoxing wine, and cornstarch for 10-15 minutes.
  2. In a small bowl, mix chicken broth, soy sauce, Shaoxing wine, dark soy sauce, cornstarch, sugar, black pepper, and salt to create the sauce.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat; cook the marinated chicken until browned. Remove from the skillet.
  4. Stir-fry ginger and garlic in the same skillet; add onion and bell peppers and cook until soft.
  5. Pour in the prepared sauce and stir until thickened; return chicken to combine well.
