- 1 lb flank steak (thinly sliced)
- 2 Tbsp olive oil (divided)
- 1 lb fresh broccoli (cut into florets)
- 6 Tbsp low sodium soy sauce
- 3 Tbsp packed light brown sugar
- 1 ½ Tbsp corn starch
- 2 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp fresh ginger (grated)
- 2 tsp garlic (grated)
Instructions
- Begin by cooking white rice according to package directions.
- Prepare the beef by freezing it for 30 minutes, then thinly slice against the grain.
- In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger, garlic, corn starch, and sesame oil to create the stir fry sauce.
- Heat 1 Tbsp of oil in a large skillet over medium heat and sauté the broccoli for about 4–5 minutes until bright green. Remove from skillet.
- Increase heat to high, add remaining oil, and cook beef for about 2 minutes per side until browned.
- Return broccoli to the skillet with the beef, pour in the sauce, and simmer until thickened (about 3–4 minutes). Serve over rice.
