- 1½ teaspoons salt
- ½ cup mashed banana (about 1 large banana)
- 4 Tablespoons (1/2 stick, 57 g) unsalted butter (very soft)
- ½ cup (107 g) packed light brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 2 large bananas (thinly sliced)
- ¼ cup (60 ml) heavy cream (slightly warmed for pouring on rolls before baking)
- 4 ounces cream cheese (softened to room temperature)
- 4 tablespoons (57 g) unsalted butter (softened)
- 1 ½ cups (170 g) powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Mix lukewarm milk and yeast; let sit until bubbly. Add melted butter, sugar, mashed bananas, and salt.
- Gradually incorporate flour until a soft dough forms. Knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth.
- Let rise in a greased bowl for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread with softened butter, and sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Add sliced bananas, roll tightly, slice into 1–2 inch pieces, and arrange in a baking dish.
- Allow to rise again for 30 minutes before pouring warmed cream over the top.
